Matteo Stokes started his half term holidays by popping into our transport depot with his dad Mark, so that we could present to them a donation of £704.20 for Great Ormond Street Hospital, our Q3 nominated Pallet Pledge charity.
Mark Stokes is the Director at Black Lion Press in Maidstone (a supplier to Firmin) and has worked closely with the business for many years. In May 2010 Mark’s son Matteo was born with a unilateral cataract. Without the skills and expertise of the eye team at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Matteo would have been blind within four weeks. He is now 7 years old and despite having very limited vision in one eye, he is doing really well.
The money raised will help to fund life-saving equipment and ground-breaking research to find cures and treatments giving children everywhere a brighter future. Firmin are proud to support this very worthy cause.
